Comments : Hi So there are deerhounds in the North Island. Been a life long Deerhound, Deerhound/Greyhound cross owner. Always used my animals for there intended purpose. Sadly had to conduct my hunting activities in secret in the UK. Now living in NZ hopefully I will be able to enjoy Longdogs at work legally once again in the not too distant future. Would be interested to hear of any live coursing or other like minded hunters.

Comments : We are the proud owners (parents!) of Louis who is one of your beautiful dogs- he is one of your Deerhound x Greyhounds. I used to be a 'cat person' before we got Louis- now I am a Deerhound x Greyhound person!!! He is the biggest cuddly bear (75 cm at shoulder) and noble. companion- who loves watermelon :) If you are looking for well bred dogs with beautiful temperaments, then Jenny is the lady to contact.

Comments : I walk on New Brighton beach with my beardie/lab cross who is of course the most beautiful dog in the universe. We sometimes meet a couple of deerhounds who look like Elle McPherson versions of my beardie - tall, languid, elegant, fast, utterly lovely. I havent told my beardie of my infatuation.

Comments : Had 2 or 3 deerhounds at a time,starting in the UK with Stranwith dogs. Not had one for nearly 3 yrs badly miss all those crazy deerhound habits - leaning, body slamming, blocking the view of the TV, ear rub groans, trying to sit on your knee and soooo much more - may visit one day for a deerhound fix, NZ is way too short on deerhounds!

Comments : My husband came home and told me he saw a girl walking the most calm and dignified HUGE (tall) dog ever. He was sure it was a Scottish Deerhound. So we had a look and found your sight. We used to own a Newfoundland, sadly losing him to cancer at 11years old. Never thought I'd be swayed to think about a different breed, but am rapidly changing my mind :-)Maybe one day we will own one.

Comments : I met my first deerhound in St Ives a couple of years ago. I thought he was the most lovely dog I'd ever met and I've had a few. One day we'll have the honour of sharing our home with one. Just have to persuade our current dog..... Will catch you at Taupo soon I hope.

Comments : I enjoyed looking at your Deerhound pictures. I used to breed and show and LOVE Scottish Deerhounds! I had 5 generations of Ch. But now due to poor health I have to live without the dogs that brought so much joy to my life. My sons Deerhound even saved his life in a blizzard!! My Deerhounds O`Donegal were pictured quite often in the Claymore magazine and were pictured twice in the all breed book "The Fine Art of Dog Breeding" I miss having them in my life so much. Give your dogs "ear rubs" for me!

Your dogs look fabulous and I wish all the best of luck with them, We have a 16 month Irish Wolfhound called Clodagh bred in Rakaia She is justb as you describe your deerhounds. Full of fun, very loving a wonderful pet. I'd love to take her coursing - CHCH is the nearest for us. But we are coming uo the North Island late on this year.
